Dark Fusion (or Goth Fusion) dance is not about donning black clothes, wearing lots of eyeliner, and writhing your body around. Dark Fusion is about connecting to your inner Dark Side, and expressing it both visually and emotionally. If you listen to the Dark Side within us all, dramatically beautiful forms of art are created. The workshop entails: an explanation behind the concept of Dark Fusion dance; guidance on proper costuming, makeup and music; teaching key movements and combinations that characterize Dark Fusion; and putting it all together into a choreography.
What To Wear:
Please wear loose comfortable clothing. If you wear a skirt please make sure that it is ankle length, loose, and flowing (tight skirts do not allow for the necessary freedom of movement). Sweat pants or spandex pants are also acceptable. No jeans please! Also, you need to bring something you
can tie around your hips (a scarf, strip of cloth, even a long sleeve shirt).

Baraka is happy to teach a variety of workshops at many different levels. Varying dance styles are available for workshops, ranging from Tribal Fusion, to Goth Bellydance, to ethnic dance. Workshops can also focus on specific techniques; like how to dance to live music, dancing while playing zills, or using various props (especially those that can be balanced). Lectures, in brief or at length, on the cultural/historical background of the dance additionally are offered. Please contact Baraka for further details.
